Broadview Builders was selected to perform the Mad Capper loft and penthouse second and third-level remodel with zero property lines. This project included many complexities, such as common wall structural modifications, limited parking, no construction staging and storage. It involved removing one-third of the existing old wood timber roof structure, erecting a third story penthouse and salvaging the old timber and materials to utilize where possible, such as for fireplace mantels and stairs treads. It also required the use of high end architectural finishes and updated mechanical, fire sprinklers and electrical systems. The loft features an open stair with a single stringer and no intermediate support as well as with airplane cable railings.
